Summaryat Marías Beach, Rincón, Puerto Rico PHASE II. The main goal of this project was to reduce runoff from bare soil areas through the implementation of site-specific best management practices, green infrastructure practices, reforestation and revegetation with native species. A key component of this project was to improve public access through a redistributing of recreational areas and parking spaces in close coordination with local communities and resource users.

SummaryThe project team will expand ongoing efforts and carry out a watershed assessment for the Río Añasco (HUC 12: 210100030204) to further our understanding of watershed conditions and the required management actions. 

 

Reducing Land-based Sources of Pollution

Period of Performance: 2022-2024

Summary: Full project title is "Reducing land-based sources of pollution from coffee farms in the Río Grande de Añasco". PDC will stabilize up to 5 miles of dirt roads in two selected coffee farms located in the Rio Grande Añasco watershed through the implementation of best management practices (BMPs) approved by NRCS and US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) specialists.
